Goals for the future

As I continue to learn and grow, I feel it has become prudent to define the goals I have for myself as well as some ways to measure how I am tracking in achieving them. In no particular order...

Fitness: I want to be in better shape than I need to be to ensure I can do all the active things I love to do. Do so by 1) Stretching every morning 2) At least 100 squats and push ups post stretching 3) run 4-5 days per week (or sub in any other sustained cardio)

Guitar: I want to improve both as a guitar player and as a student of music. Do so by 1) dedicating at least a half hour to play each day (great pre-bed activity) 2) Fully learning songs (rather than halfway) 3) learn the notes and their place on the fret board, how they interact and work together 4) begin to freestyle as a way to practice note progressions and scales

Learning: I want to always pursue new intellectual avenues and learn about the world. Do so by 1) Listen to quality podcasts during downtime (Joe Rogan, Ted Radio Hour, Startalk) 2) Read & digest current events each morning (workout cool down time?) through WSJ's, Robinhood Snacks, UtilityDive, Cleantech, etc. 3) Read. Everyday. At least a little bit. Can sub in and out depending on news intake. 4) Personal Projects. There are so many quality courses online (Udemy, Coursera, etc) to learn about cool and important things. Use them.

Impact: I want to leave the world better than it is and enable people to do amazing things. Do so by 1) Donating. Its so easy yet so meaningful. Try to make it a daily, weekly, monthly (at least) exercise. A dollar a day can go a very long way. 2) Work in something meaningful. Like it or not, I'm going to have to dedicate a majority of my waking hours to earning a living. Don't join something that you won't be able to commit fully to. You rob yourself and the firm of potential if you're not all in. 3) Be humble and curious. You learn more by listening and doing so encourages others to do so as well. Life isn't a competition to be right so don't treat it like one.

Relationships: I want to cultivate lasting and powerful friendships and relationships with the people who matter to me. Do so by: 1) Investing in relationships. Call people just to say high and see whats up. Ask questions. Remember birthdays and don't withhold congratulations and praise. 2) Assess what kind of person I am being. Its no secret that often what we feel vs what we say and do vary tremendously. Be honest in my own assessment of my actions and work to have them align with my intentions. 3) Chose love. There are and will be more conflicts. Love heals, and even if it can't save a relationship, I'd rather go down loving a person than resenting them.

All for now. Likely to be amended/appended as a continue to grow.
